How much do you charge?
We charge $15 per notarized signature and a minimum $25 travel fee depending on where we’re coming and the time of day. Veterans are not charged notary fees if a document is related to military service. Discount travel fees are given to customers with five or more signatures.
How much does it cost to notarize just one document?
o One document can have multiple signatures requiring a notary stamp or it could have multiple signatures only requiring one notary stamp. You will know if a notary stamp is required because it will have a notary paragraph where we will sign or there will be instructions for a notary to attach a form that will be notarized.
o If there is only one place for a notary to sign and stamp but there are four signers, that would be considered 4 notarized signatures. If there is only one person signing but the notary has to sign and stamp four different times, that is also considered four notarized signatures. Just because there is only one document does NOT necessarily mean it’s only one notarized signature.
Do you perform I-9 verification?
No. The state of California prohibits notaries from performing this function. You must contact an immigration attorney for this document.
What documents may need to be notarized?
Any document in which the originator needs to ensure the integrity of the signer.
Can a notary assist me with filling out documents?
No. A notary can only witness the signing of any documents. Notaries may not assist in preparing any documents. For a notary to assist in preparing legal documents would be practicing law without a license.
Can a person be refused a notarization?
Yes, a notary public may refuse to notarize:
- If he or she cannot validate a signer’s identity, willingness, or an understanding of the transaction taking place.
- One or more signers are not present
- Documents have been whited out
- The documents do not have a prepared notary certificate and the signer cannot determine what notarial act is required
- The signer does not speak English and is unable to provide a translator
- The signer wants you to certify a copy of a vital record.
A notary public shall NOT notarize a document if he/she has a financial interest in the transact.

What type of identification will a notary require from the signers?
- Satisfactory evidence of identity ” shall mean identification of an individual based on at least one current document issued by a Federal or State government agency bearing the photographic image of the individual’s face and signature; or on the oath or affirmation of a credible witness unaffected by the document or transaction who is personally known to the notary and who personally knows the individual; or identification of an individual based on the notary public’s personal knowledge of the signer.
